Dear Solomon Schechter Academy Community,

I am writing to you to share very important news. I am delighted to announce that Alexandra D’Arrisso will be taking on the position of Director of Student Services at Solomon Schechter Academy beginning July 2018.

Alex has extensive clinical, research and professional experience and has been an invaluable part of the SSA team over the last 4 years. She has already worked with many of your children and supported many families to help make sure that they are meeting their full potential. Alex has shown a passion for working with children and is widely respected by staff and parents. Alex is a warm, kind person who continuously shows her leadership in all her endeavours.

Over the next few months, she will continue to work closely with Tina Roth, to ensure a smooth transition and that all information is passed on. This will guarantee that the needs of students, staff and parents will continue to be met with excellence. As Director of Student Services, Alex will be the liaison with parents for social or academic concerns relating to their child. She will be responsible for all matters relating to student services including preparing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for students with learning difficulties. In collaboration with Alex, we decided that it will be best for her title to be Director of Student Services. We both felt that this title better reflected her responsibilities and also allowed us to standardize it with the other directors at SSA.

Please join me in congratulating Alex on her new role as Director of Student Services. I am confident that Alex and the student services team will continue to respond enthusiastically to the challenges they will face. Alex can be reached at adarrisso@solomonschechter.ca.

I wish Alex every success as she takes on this new exciting position.

Kind regards,

Steven Erdelyi, Head of School
