I am writing to share with you exciting news regarding the administrative team that will come into effect at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year.
After an extensive recruitment process, we have hired Julie Schneider as our new Assistant Head of School – Communications, Enrollment & Student Life. Julie is coming from Miss Edgar’s and Miss Cramp’s School where as Executive Director of Community Relations she oversaw and optimized the Admissions, Advancement, and Communications departments.
Prior to working at ECS, Julie worked at Federation CJA as Director, Strategic Marketing & Communications. She holds an MBA from HEC Montréal and a BA in Sociology and Jewish Studies from McGill University. Julie is an enthusiastic and well-spoken leader who brings with her a wealth of knowledge in communications, strategic analysis, customer relations and a strong sense of the community. I look forward to working with her in the coming school year.
You will all have the chance to meet her at the back-to-school Barbecue on August 23.
Julie will work closely with myself, Jonathan Kuczer, our Assistant Head of School – Finance, Operations and Development, and the other members of the administration team. In this new role, Julie will oversee the Director of Communications, Director of Student Services, Lunchtime and Recess Coordinator and our Head Coach. She will be responsible for matters of Student Life including addressing any concerns from parents and prospective parents regarding their child’s well-being, admissions, and communications.
We want to continue to raise the bar with respect to the level of communications and ensure that we are providing you with the best service and support so that your children can flourish and reach their utmost potential. We will be sharing with you a new detailed reporting procedure in the upcoming weeks as to how to address concerns regarding your child.
At Solomon Schechter Academy, we continue to strive for excellence to be not only the best Jewish Day School in Montreal but across North America. By improving our organizational structure and your children’s academic and social experience, we want to ensure that SSA remains the strongest Jewish Day School for generations to come.
Thank you again for your continued support and for trusting us with your children’s education.
Steven Erdelyi, Head of School
