The Kindergarten children spent the morning helping with the installation of a Nutritower, a hydroponic gardening system, which will complement the Science and French programs. The children planted 7 varieties of plants; cucumbers, tomatoes, parsley, basil, peppermint and lettuce. Over the next few weeks, these 50 plants will begin to germinate and will then be transplanted into special porous stones in the hydroponic system. Within the next 50-70 days, the children will be able to taste and enjoy what they have planted. The Nutritower will be used continuously throughout the year. We hope to have our last crop transplanted outside in the Amiel Centre Gardens. We are looking forward to this fruitful year.
