Global Day of Jewish Learning

Students in Grades 2, 3, 5 & 6 joined together for the Global Day of Jewish Learning. This year’s topic was their Hebrew name.

The students were asked to explore the idea of, “Why do we all have a Hebrew name and why was it chosen for us by our parents”?

The students spoke about how Yakov’s name was changed to Israel which then led to his children’s name being Am Israel.

The students were in awe that their very own Hebrew names span thousands of years and many generations. Our students are part of the continuing Jewish story.
